Project Greenlight: Digital Literacy for Digital Natives, is an initiative that will approximately 125 high school students as they learn digital literacy leading to professional standards and employability skills required for a career in graphic design, illustration, and animation. Students will showcase their collection of projects and reflections by creating a multimedia graphic design, illustration and animation portfolios, which will complement their Adobe Photoshop CC certification in April 2020.
Graphic Design Pathway students will showcase their projects for Digital Learning Day where printed and digital works will be exhibited and celebrated as a technological innovation at this high school. Furthermore, Technology Student Association members will demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills in graphic design, illustration, and animation at select conferences and competitions in the spring and summer of 2020. Hence, this technological endeavor supports the Houston Independent School District’s PowerUp initiative and will allow underrepresented students to participate in competitions and presentations at district and state technology conferences and other events.
