These materials will make a big difference in my classroom. The coding mice and programming mats will help promote student collaboration, problem solving and critical thinking skills. Critical thinkers, collaborators and problem solvers are key in the work force. My students will gain all of these skills practicing with coding the Fisher Price Code-a-Pillars starting out in kindergarten. My older students will learn higher level coding skills and animation creation with the LEGO Stop Animation. Students will be able to solve real world problems through scripting stories with the animation program. This will not only strengthen their problem solving skills but will also promote global awareness.
