Over the years, my current carpet has become worn and faded. It is also too small for the many students I serve throughout the school year. I have started to put character duct tape around the carpet for the students to sit on. Last year, the tape left a sticky residue that no one wants to sit on. The students need a defined space for their bodies in order to participate and learn during large group activities. Vibrant and bright colors make large group activities more inviting. A color carpet with defined spots can be used to teach colors and be used in a variety of academic games.
