A new large group carpet would create endless opportunities for students in our classroom. An interactive carpet like this one will allow students to practice counting, number recognition, color recognition, vocabulary, and other language skills all in one space! This particular carpet would be especially helpful to our Spanish-speaking students in the classroom since all of the numbers, colors, and other vocabulary are featured in both English & Spanish. Something as simple as a carpet will foster new learning and new relationships. This project would make it easier for us to incorporate the skills mentioned above into our daily circle and large group times, as well as help our English speaking students to learn new ways to communicate with students who primarily speak Spanish.
