The minds I teach are avid readers, thinkers, scientists, mathematicians, players, and have I mentioned readers? Students are broken into their "just right" reading levels and the goal is to blend together our reading time with teaching social studies content through trade books. Our students have so many questions and when they are put into these "just right" reading groups with books that are meant to perk their interest in the study of the world around them they ask questions, are eager to research, and retain information that they have sought out!
