I have 25 second grade students who come from low income households and their reading levels vary anywhere from pre-primer to 4th grade! I have been very lucky this year to get a group of students who are passionate about reading. They love it when I read them books on the carpet in the classroom library. They also enjoy reading independently during Accelerated Reader. The day we get the Scholastic Reading Club flyer and review the books of the month is always a big hit!
