I love my students. They each bring a unique piece into my classroom. My students are fun/energetic learners who give their all when they walk in the room. Some are Autistic, some intellectually disabled, and some just developmentally delayed. My students all exhibit speech and social delays. I am working hard on both communication and social development. In my classroom, students use a picture/icon schedule daily to help them transition from one activity to the next. This type of schedule works very well for them as they need the visuals and consistency that a visual schedule can provide. We also use a lot of manipulative and printable type items to help teach grade level subjects and concepts. My students would benefit greatly in their communication and social development with the addition of new materials in these center areas to enhance their learning.
