Think for a second… Do you like to take your computer or your work home and lounge on the couch? Maybe that is the best setting that you can get your things done. Now imagine five and six year old stuck in a desk and chair or table all day long. They have energetic bodies that come with constant movement. We need to provide options for them. To have flexible setting will help my students stay engaged during carpet time, work collaboratively during station time and stayed focus on learning tasks when needed. By having, a variety of choices available for my student’s I am able to touch all students learning needs. They will not have to stay seated in the standard desk chair setting. It will provide the needed movement that my active kindergartners need to stay engaged and focused.
