My project will be helping students focus on RL3.10, by the end of the year I will be able to read and comprehend literature, including stories, dramas, and poetry, at the high end of the grades 2-3 text complexity band independently and proficiently. Students have been struggling with fluently reading and comprehending grade level text due to being on distance learning for the past year and a half. In my classroom, we are working in small guided groups to improve reading fluency and comprehension of grade level and ability text. The Scholastic book sets will expand our classroom library and allow students to choose various books at their individualized reading level. The Feedback Phones and timers will allow students to work on their reading fluency and give them the opportunity to listen to themselves read out loud. Flexible seating while reading is welcomed and encouraged in my classroom, the cushions will be a great addition.
