The students in my High Ability class are so eager to learn new concepts in math that I can't keep up with them!! I love the Hands on Equations program because it can be used to teach Algebraic concepts to even my youngest kids in 3rd grade. Years ago when I used the Hands on Equations program at a different school, when I told the kids they had just learned algebra, the smiles on their faces was priceless!
The Hands on Equations kits will be used in my 3rd, 4th and 5th grade High Ability math classes to further their desire to learn math concepts. These classes are small in size, usually between 7 and 9 students, so that we can go further in depth on topics and move quicker through them. While their math learning in their regular classrooms meets their grade level standards, these kids are ready to move on and go further in their math learning.
The Hands on Equations program will benefit my students by allowing them to take their current knowledge of numbers and stretch it to much higher levels!
