My students need materials to help them learn foundational skills for reading. Many of our students at ICS speak one or two additional languages. Learning phonics and basic reading skills is sometimes difficult for these children. As a first-year ESE teacher, I would like to provide my students with a warm and inviting reading area so they can enjoy reading. I would like to offer my students fun and unique activities to help them develop stronger reading skills. The students really enjoy hands-on learning activities. Primary and third-grade students will love the magnetic letters that they can manipulate. The ​Stack & Build Phonics Flip Books will motivate them to learn phonics in an engaging way. also, Hot Dots Phonics Set will increase their level of attention, curiosity, interest in the learning process. Inferencing skills are often an area of weakness for our students as they are learning English as a second language. Making Inferences Hot Dots will motivate them to practice higher-level critical thinking skills and will promote meaningful learning experiences. Rhyming Words Dominoes Game will help students learn how language works. It helps them notice and works with the sounds within words. This prepares them to make predictions when they read, another important reading skill. Overall, the classroom environment plays a crucial role in keeping students engaged and allowing them to be successful within the classroom. The Happy World Rug would be one of many other elements which have the importance to contribute to the learning environment that plays in student success.
