Currently we use Velcro spots to mark our spaces on the carpet. While affordable and easy to move, they cause disruptions during class. The rug will benefit our class by minimizing distractions during whole group time. When on the carpet, students peel up the Velcro spots and move them so they can sit by their friends. Students have also put them in friends' hair, and they have gotten stuck which causes pain to the student when trying to remove them. The new carpet will allow me to assign a spot to each student without the students being able to move them. The squares also allow for space between students so that they can practice keeping their hands and their feet to themselves.
