Our school has fallen on rough times, and there is little to no budget available for new resources. This is my first year teaching Kindergarten, but there are few new materials for keeping up with the Common Core state standards. The push to keep up with other school districts and stay up-to-date with modern manipulatives is what made me choose the supplies listed. The magnetic letters would be used for help with letter recognition, spelling words and for guided reading groups. The whiteboards would be used so that every child can use one at the same time during whole group activities for letter writing, math problems and drawing. The stamps would be a fun way for the students to spell their names and words while learning how to write. The colored caddies would be used for storing supplies such as markers and pencils at each group's table. Having these materials would dramatically increase student engagement and their learning and excitement for school. I have already purchased many items out of my own pocket. Any help would be greatly appreciated by me and my Kindergarten class.
