I am asking for items to help my students explore the new Louisiana science standards including an ant factory, butterfly garden and flower model. For these projects, my students will be able to use their own observational skills. Using the ant farm will let them be able to see how an ant's habitat works. How important each ant is to the common goal of their survival. We would use the whisper phone to read stories about ants. Each student would be so excited to come to my table and "whisper" the story to each other. I am even excited to try this. The whisper phone would help so much with my guided reading lessons. It would make my students want to read. These STEM materials will give each student a sense of wonder about the world they live in, that otherwise, they might not be able to experience themselves.
