My classroom is a homogeneous class of gifted and talented students. They are bright and often have knowledge about a vast number of topics. Many think gifted learners will learn simply because they are smart. How wrong they are! In many ways gifted students are more difficult to teach because of what they know and question why they should know more. That is why I am always searching for unusual books, logic and thinking activities, and technology tools that will help me tap my students critical and creative thinking. In the last several years our district has cut funding to our program, and I fear that the impact of hurricane Harvey will force our district to decrease funding even more. It is my goal to make sure that my students' needs and met by challenging them academically each and every day.
