All of my students love hands on learning projects and I strive to do as many of them with them as I can. These projects require materials and some organization. We have color pencils but need a faster alternative to getting them sharpened as needed so we need pencil sharpeners. Science can get messy and cleaning up messes as soon as possible keeps things safe so we need ways to sweep and dust. My class is a science class and just recently we were studying matter and I realized that 1 class balance was not enough for a class of 24 so I am requesting balances. I also put together science journals for my students using the big manila envelopes for them to keep all of their thoughts and ideas together throughout our different science units. My fifth graders switch classes and have 3 different teachers. We fifth grade teachers help them stay organized by using different color copy paper. The requested supplies will help our class to stay neat and run smoothly so that we can have more time to have some fun learning experiences. It is hard competing with TV's, video games, and computers but with the right attitude and tools it can be done. My students are so excited to get started participating in hands on activities. With your help this year I'll be able to provide many opportunities to my students to be able to make learning discoveries.
