I found that bright colors help students remember. We do a lot of handouts and notes, so I try to make it fun be adding color to their notes. Students are able to remember what they learn through the notes and interactive notebooks we create--past students have kept theirs to help them as they progress in their education. Hence the need of many of the school supplies I purchase through Amazon and other facilities. Typical school supplies are always needed, and if students can't get those supplies, I can help them out. With curriculum, my students have the chance to branch by learning and reading different genres of literature through learning literature terms and developing their writing skills. We look at anything from fiction to poetry to nonfiction. Because I find that reading is just important as writing, I encourage my students to read different genres of literature. It allows them to see how literature is expressed, formatted, and even developed through the purpose behind the text. I have a personally school library for students to check books out and am always trying to find new books to add--they can be pricey! If they can't find the book they want in the school library, they can to me to see if I have it--if not, I do what I can to find the book for them, even if it means I have to order them myself. Overall, I really want to help my students out and let them know they are being taken care of, regardless of what circumstance (remote learning or not) they can feel successful.
