Do you know how hard it is to learn when you have to sit on a hard, wood chair for 90 minutes? It's not easy! As a teacher of 9th graders who are new to a block schedule, I can tell you they get antsy. I would love more seating options for my students - stools to move around the room or into the hallway, a bar table and chairs to sit against the window, a standing desk for that one kid who can never seem to sit still. Flexible seating will allow my students to easily pair up, work in small groups, or discuss as a whole class. I would love for my students to feel like they have some choice over my classroom environment and flexible seating allows students to choose where they work and with whom. It also allows them to change their location and positions as needed, and would work so well for our Farmer's Market Day.
