Our students come from a variety of economic backgrounds. Approximately one third of the students come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds and have fewer authentic opportunities for learning. Having electronic circuitry equipment affords those opportunities and creates a level playing field between those in varying socioeconomic settings, while increasing science, math, computer, and logic skills. We also have students with special needs who have not previously been included in a general education classroom. They have specific emotional needs that will intensify with high academic pressure and peers who they are not familiar learning alongside. Using electronic circuitry exploration neutralizes those pressures and differences, giving all students something positive to focus on.
