I am a first-grade teacher at an incredible school in Minneapolis. My school is focused on closing the opportunity gap and our vision is to go beyond the four walls of our school to create a more equitable system of education. We offer our scholars the opportunities and resources necessary for them to grow to their full potential. Our schools are intentionally built around their needs to ensure 100% of our scholars graduate from high school college ready. As a teacher, it is my job to give each of my students the best education I can provide by upholding high academic and social expectations, and by always putting my students at the center of everything I do in the classroom.
