My students are 8 and 9 year old 3rd graders. I teach in a high poverty, Pre-K-5th grade school in Louisiana. Most students come from homes with limited income. They lack exposure to experiences that would help them make connections between lessons taught in the classroom and the real world. I want my students to have a chance at learning from different avenues. I believe by giving my students multiple opportunities that they may not ordinarily experience, their educational road will be taken to new altitudes.
