My fifth-grade bilingual students are mostly newcomers to the country who face many challenges as they become accustomed to their new social norms and academic challenges. My students work hard and are able to show growth despite having to learn a new language. The students continue their education in Spanish as they acquire the English language. They are eager to learn and are a pleasure to work with.
