To me, my students are amazing and have all the potential in the world to grow into active learners and seekers of the unknown, to contribute to make the society in which they've grown up in a better place to live. However, one of the greatest struggles for them is the limited resources they have available to them. They live this struggle every day in and out of school and too often think that this limited lifestyle is all they will over know. My students need resources like books and novels to know what it's like outside of the world they live in. The school my students attend every day is a part of the Connecticut Commissioners Network. The students know that this means the school they go to every day was one of the worst performing schools in the state. It is with these resources that I hope to change the fixed mindsets of my students and help them develop strong growth mindsets so that they can see their own potential to contribute to our school and turn it into one of the best.
