In our class community, we value technology and the opportunities it provides in enhancing our learning and curiosities. We hope to acquire a laptop cart. The cart will provide the kids with a safe space to store the Chromebooks, while simultaneously charging them. Currently we secure them in a closet each night and charge them throughout the day. This takes away from their instructional time, because we don’t have enough outlets to charge all the computers at once. This poses an academic problem, as all the kids can’t charge their computers when they need to and therefore can’t use devices that have run out of battery. Charging computers during academic time also creates a safety hazard while students maneuver around the classroom. The cart will keep the computers locked up and secure from guests in the building, provide students with more efficient academic time, create a more safe learning environment (free of charging cords) and will permit more students the opportunity to use the computers.
