I teach about 350 students on a weekly basis, K-1. Students receive lessons through Breakfast Club, which provides social and emotional themed lessons during the children's breakfast time. I also see children from grades K-3 for individual or group lessons. The students I primarily see have gone through a lot of emotional turmoil at a young age. For some students it may be challenges at home with family, witness to community violence, or challenges at school with focusing their attention, understanding social cues, and being able to understand their feelings and other students' feelings. The school I currently work at is a very inspirational, supportive, and dedicated school. Administration has a passion for the children and the work they do and the teachers have a tremendous love and care for their students as well. The school is very open to new ideas and always willing to listen to concerns from staff, students, and parents.
