As a PE teacher at a Title I school, I am always looking for innovative games and activities that will inspire my students to be the best that they can be both on and off the field. We are all aware that active children are more likely to become active adults. Sports can have a huge impact on a child's psychological and social well-being and teach them some extremely valuable life skills too. Participating on a team, individual sport or activity, allows students to enjoy a sense of belonging. It also teaches them how to be a gracious loser because they are held accountable for their actions and have to respect their coaches, referees, and other players. As a child's skill level progresses, they are taught how to control their emotions, their self-esteem is heightened, and they train with patience to persevere through the hard skills. Additionally, they learn how to make a commitment and work together.
