Our students live in a very mobile community. With no major employer or industry in our town, many families struggle to maintain daily living standards. We have over 60 homeless families in our small school and we do our best to meet their most basic needs with a school food bank and used clothing sources. More than 70% of our students qualify for free and reduced lunches. Further, many of our children arrive as second language learners, in need of additional support to help them succeed. These students move from school to school more times than we can imagine. It's important to provide rich learning experiences whether they are with us for only one week or for one whole year.

About my class
