My students come from low-income families. They are mostly Hispanic and African Americans. Some of them come from broken families and their parents have to work to make ends meet. Most of them because of that, they cannot spend more time to help their children with their homework. Except two to three students, the rest of them are very low academically. Their living condition is not good. The area they live in is not a very safe area. The crime rate is high and prostitution is common in that area. The school provide free lunch for them and some of them come to school late and said they don't have anything to eat.
