The students in my Aquaculture Biology class are first-year students in the Bridgeport Aquaculture program. We focus on core Biology concepts with a broad variety of hands-on activities to promote engagement for the various fast-paced topics. Every semester, we take a few trips out on the school's research vessel, where we collect water and biological samples to analyze, discuss and relate to concepts learned in class. Students in the classes are a mix of local students from Bridgeport and surrounding suburban schools and towns.
