The use of a mobile whiteboard is imperative in a first grade classroom. I use it interactively with the students, as well as a way to display and model activities. Last year when we were shifted to remote learning at home, it was challenging to teach lessons in a way where all of the students could see what was displayed as I did not have the necessary materials for a successful outcome. With this mobile whiteboard, I will be able to teach writing lessons in real-time, display sight words, and use it to record lessons so students can view multiple times for easier understanding. A document camera is absolutely essential for distance learning as I will be able to use this tool to post stories for reading lessons, engage students in writing activities, and model essential learning in real-time and in recordings directly to the students' computer screens. This will act as an important middleman between me and the students. They will not only be able to see me point to each word as we read stories together in order to help with their reading skills, but they will be able to watch me model important lessons directly to their screen in real-time. Something that I was not able to do from just a computer screen. A dual monitor would greatly help with student interaction and lesson projection. With two screens, I will be able to watch the students and their lesson engagement and give instant feedback to their learning. At the same time, will also be able to use my dual monitor to project an activity to the students. I am unable to do the above with just one computer monitor.
