Model rocketry is the first step to outer space. Building a rocket will teach the cadets the basics of aerodynamics. They will learn how propulsion forces help overcome the force of gravity. Also, they get a thrill each time a rocket soars into the air and then floats back to earth via its parachute. Aerodynamics will be explained and shown how it is important to our launch. The items I am requesting are materials to build rockets from scratch, rocket kits and the engines that will launch them. The students will have to build an engine block, design their fins and determine where they will be placed on the body tube and paint their rocket as they choose. Upon successful completion of three launches and recoveries, and demonstration of required knowledge and skills, the cadet is awarded a Rocket Badge. Your donation really will mean the difference between aiming for the stars, or doing book work!
