With flexible seating, students can ditch static seats. Some students need to move around and make noise (hence the rhythm sticks) to engage their physical bodies. Without this physical exchange, the learning window is shortened for some students. Providing alternative tools to enhance learning through physical activity has worked wonders for many of the super-powered students. I have been able to help students recall their skip counting digits when we add rhythm into the repetition. Using song and voice gets students engaged in the learning objectives! I am so thankful to be able to afford my students options in their environment and tools to conquer their work.
