My kindergarten students are an amazing group of children who love to use their imaginations as they spend their days exploring and discovering the world around them. Many of them live in poverty and a great deal are Hispanic, English Language Learners. Their parents are unable to expose them to the countless developmental benefits of playing with blocks and unfortunately, our district is unable to help as well. My students love working in groups to solve problems and providing a block center would promote cooperative learning despite language and socioeconomic barriers. Children need to be inspired every day and your support helps us to motivate them despite their individual hardships.
