At the moment, we have little to no xylophones or instruments for an orff ensemble. Some of them are also damaged and not playable. My students love to play on percussion instruments and I want to offer a variety of different avenues and instruments for my students to be able to explore different music and express themselves. With the purchase of instruments like the glockenspiels and bass xylophone, we can begin the process of developing an inventory where all students will be able to have access to these wonderful instruments and continue their learning and exposure in music. They'll be able to start to play in an ensemble as a class, understand the dynamics of what that entails, and further their musical foundation and literacy.
