Vinton Middle School Band students are all new to band. I have begginners in every class from 6th to 8th. For the past few years the band program has been awfully small; only consisting of students in the 7th and 8th grade. In my first "full" year teaching here we have added band to the 6th grade, and have held a Christmas Concert on campus with the band size at 35 students. As of this moment the band program has enough equipment to get by with, most of which is borrowed from other schools. At the rate that the band is growing it is possible to expect the band to be anywhere between 45 and 60 students at the beginning of the 2018 school year.
