During this past summer, the very old, dusty, out-dated ceramics studio received a much-needed renovation . . . students had been losing interest because supplies were lacking and equipment was worn-out from many years of use. It was time to do something serious. Worn-out and non-working equipment was removed, professional cleaners tackled the counters and cabinets, a new tile floor was installed, the entire room received a fresh coat of paint and a new teacher was hired with the hopes of reviving the ceramics program. While this is a great start, the program is lacking a few essential items, such as potter's wheels! A new kiln and one potter's wheel has been purchased, and the school art budget will replace basic tools and supply clay. We are working very hard from within to make important improvements. However, my students still need a few more potter's wheels. With two Ceramics classes this year, as well as an Intro to Art class and a Creative Arts class all using the ceramics room at various times, one wheel is not going to get them very far! Please help us purchase this amazing wheel! We had the opportunity to try it out at a neighboring school and feel that it is an essential piece of equipment for a well rounded ceramics education. It's top quality and should last for many years to come. Thank you!
