The addition of standing desks will keep my students engaged, alert, and will help increase concentration, and brain function. The added health benefits, like reducing childhood obesity, are a bonus! My wish is to provide an environment where my active learners can continue to be comfortable by standing and wiggling, but also engage in discussions and activities where they are learning with deeper meaning. One way to do this is to give them a place to work without distracting others, but keep them moving and catering to their needs. Standing desks + engaged learners + health benefits = future productive society members
