I teach math in a beautiful NYC middle school in the Bronx not far from Yankee Stadium. My students are as diverse as the world and as resilient as the city. I hold them to the highest academic expectations and standards. My students and I have made our math classroom a crown jewel and an inspirational and breathtaking math workshop space where vigorous, hands-on, stand-up-and-solve, math learning takes place every day. In addition to teaching the Common Core Math curriculum and prepping for New York State Algebra 1 Regents Exam, I teach my students to solve Rubik's Cubes and countless other math and logic puzzles. My students have the passion and potential to be a future Katherine Johnsons (Hidden Figures) or Chris Gardners (The Pursuit of Happyness).
