Oftentimes, many of my students' favorite selections are unavailable in the school or public library. In an effort to support my students, I've learned that I must first provide interesting and relatable texts in my own classroom! My goal is to find at least one interesting book for my students to independently read throughout each school year. Having extra reading options in my classroom will allow me to encourage a lifelong love of reading for my students! I did not have the opportunity to plan for a student library because I began teaching 3 days before Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Houston. With your support, my students will have access to various titles, and foster the love of reading I had as a student.
