My kindergarten students are a diverse group of five and six year old learners with mixed abilities, interests and experiences. They enjoy having opportunities for movement and given choices during the day. In my classroom, the students are learning letter names, sounds, counting skills and how to write. They enjoy getting their bodies moving while learning these new skills. My class is a mix of students with many levels of abilities. Some of my students have special needs, and some students are already able to read. I make sure that I work with each group of students so their needs are met. My students are eager, friendly, and love to learn. Because this is their first year of school, I work hard to show them how wonderful learning at school can be.
