I've had the privilege to facilitate learning for numerous children in Providence, RI for the past 28 years! Over the years I've experienced many changes in education. However, one thing remains a constant, children's need for recess and opportunities for socialization. Often overlooked, the State of RI has recognized the importance of recess by mandating 20 minutes per day beginning this year. This will provide students with opportunities for both structured and free play. During this time children learn how to build and repair friendships; follow directions, release and refuel energy, as well as take a much needed break from the classroom demands. My project will provide my students with games and activities for indoor recess which will take place in the classroom during the winter months. Please consider supporting the health and wellness of my students through this project. Thank you!
