My students are improving their vocabulary and test taking abilities by learning a group of 12 powerful words. They have a word of the week. One of their assignments is to create a piece of word art that represents the word and its definition. Students enjoy this, and it gives them another learning style to draw from. We are also learning reading and writing strategies to help improve our comprehension. We need more pencils and paper in order to facilitate this. I teach at a wonderful school district that provides us with 1 to 1 technology. This is amazing but, some of my student need some hands on practice and we are short of supplies.
