Remote Learning…Virtual Teaching…Online Teaching…are a few of the terms that are being used to describe how teachers are reaching a classroom full of students—from home. Having a tablet to be used in our classroom would benefit all learners in my classroom. I will be able to draw more accurate depictions of math concepts, such as tens and ones, as well as draw shapes. Also, the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will be a huge asset to my classroom, as I can purchase various teacher-created slideshows and worksheets that I can utilize with my second graders. I am hoping to receive a drawing tablet to reach my smiling, hardworking and dedicated second graders from afar. A tablet would allow me to teach my math lessons from the classroom, using neat and easy to read lessons while the children at at home. Colleagues have also found that using this tool in their classrooms has been a life-saver. I would be able to stand in a chair in the back of my room and make notes on the board. I would be able to sit right beside a student whose behavior needs redirecting and still continue to teach the lesson without missing a beat. In addition, a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card would be especially beneficial during these virtual times. This amazing teacher site has been instrumental in adding visuals to my lessons.
