I teach 8th grade ELA which consists of about 80 students. These kids have overcame so much since the beginning of the pandemic. They are resilient and despite witnessing a harsh and hateful world, they are still kind and respectful kids. But they are still kids who need grace, patience, and love. With your help, we can give these kids a safe place and a trusting environment where they can express themselves and learn who they are, all while growing their education skills.
Students in my 8th grade language arts classes are very hands-on students. My students are high-energy and competitive and love learning through 'play'. They are intense learners who need hands on lessons to keep them engaged. We are at a district where sports are the majority of activities and often, competitiveness spills over into the classroom.
