I am passionate about ensuring that every student of mine succeeds. These items will help students with ADHD, SPD, and Autism Spectrum diagnoses to focus in the classroom. In doing so, they will find frequent success--a key to continued motivation in the classroom. Items like the wobble cushions are wonderful for sensory seeking students, as it stimulates their senses while sitting. The fidget bands allow students with ADHD to sit quietly at their desks and focus simply by fidgeting their feet on the bands. I've seen this particular item prolong sit time by up to 30 minutes! Additionally, it will help limit distractions in the classroom, thereby allowing greater success for EVERY student. Our students are unique individuals. We have been accommodating different learning styles for years. But we must do more than that. We must create a learning atmosphere that accommodates the uniqueness of each of our students. Some students need wobble stools or balance balls because they can expend energy while working. Others prefer to stand instead of sit. It is my goal to provide my students with whatever they need to be their best self in my classroom. Our strengths lie in our differences. It's time our classrooms reflect that.
