My classroom is an inclusive Pre-K classroom, in a high poverty area. My students often struggle with emotional and sensory delays. Each child in my classroom has an IEP (Individual Education Plan) for a Developmental Delay in their development (being communication, social/behavioral, gross/fine motor skills, and self help skills). My students are an amazing group of 16 children with a wide range of abilities and needs. For most of my students this is their first school experience which can be stressful for any child. For children with developmental delays who have communication and social delays this can be very challenging. Navigating their day to day activities can often be very overwhelming.
