Our student population is a diverse mixture of races, cultures and socioeconomic status'. Our curriculum is known world wide, the International Baccalaureate program. However, our students are not all on the same "playing field" when they enter our doors. We have just over 1200 seventh and eighth graders in our building and the majority of them are on a free or reduced lunch. Our students excel in many areas such as LOTC, Band, Choir and History Fair, but that's only a small percentage. We want to provide programming that ALL of our students can benefit from. We want to spark interests in them, that they didn't know existed; interests that can take them beyond their neighborhoods and city. As the Librarian, my goal is for our students to view the library as the glue that holds the school together. Our diverse collection brings in most but we want to reach them all, be it by Makerspaces, BookClub, Robotics or Coding.
