The ability to focus on immediate tasks is an important skill in life. This skill is a struggle for many of my students. During independent work, they often become easily distracted by other things going on in the classroom. Redirecting their attention back to independent activities can be difficult, time consuming, and due to their individual disabilities, often result in unwanted behaviors. This is time lost on independent practice and classroom instruction. I want to give them the tools necessary to help them be successful in this area. The use of privacy desks will help reduce distractions, so the students can focus on what is immediately in front of them. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
