Falcon Middle School is a place where everyone belongs by focusing on the individuality of each student. This is the first year (in many) that Falcon Middle School has had a Spanish program, pioneered by Ms. Jessica Crawford Nelson. Almost every 6th grader at FMS has a quarter of Spanish class. 7th and 8th graders may choose to have a full semester of Spanish. About the teacher: After over a decade teaching, Crawford relocated with her family to Colorado Springs in 2014 where she accepted her first position teaching at an International Baccalaureate school. Crawford served as an elected board member of the Colorado Congress of Foreign Language Teachers and was chosen by colleagues, students and administrators as the Horizon Middle School Teacher of the Year. Of the 48,000 teachers in the state of Colorado, she was one of the 30 to be nominated as 2017 Colorado Teacher of the Year.
