I teach an incredible group of juniors and seniors at a large, urban-fringe high school in Northwest Indiana (just outside of Chicago). Many of my kids deal with the devastating effects of poverty daily as Portage is primarily a blue-collar, mill town. My kids in Advanced Placement Psychology are also enrolled in several other AP classes as a way to offset the cost of college. Through the hard work and vision of our administration and teaching faculty, we are able to offer a variety of AP classes so kids can actually have their entire freshman year completed before graduating high school.
